THE JOHN HACKETT BAND

The John Hackett Band embodies the spirit of progressive rock. From John’s pastoral flute textures, through the funky interplay between
drummer Duncan Parsons and bassist Jeremy Richardson to the intricacies of Nick Fletcher’s lead guitar the group embrace pop, rock,
jazz, classical, funk and all stops in-between, from the tenderest of ballads to hair-raising instrumental workouts!
John Hackett has been a much-loved and admired figure in the progressive rock scene since the mid-70’s; best-known for his flute work
with his brother, former Genesis guitarist, Steve Hackett on albums sucha s Voyage of The Acolyte, Sketches of Satie and Please Don’t Touch alongside his own solo albums Checking Out Of London, Another Life and The Piper Plays His Tune

Nick Fletcher is probably the best jazz rock guitarist in the country. His fluency is astounding, plus he possesses a first-rate classical guitar technique to boot! I consider Nick Fletcher to be an absolute star” Steve Hackett

The band have never sounded better, and they are musically as tight as a drum skin at present.” David Edwards, The Progressive Aspect – March 2024

DORIE JACKSON

“Dorie and the musicians of Kaprekar's Constant were one of the highlights of the festival this year!” Scott Butler - Folk on the Pier, Cromer

"Engaging storytelling supported by sublime vocals. Dorie is one of my favourite UK singers right now." Jason Bent - Hermon Arts, Oswestry

Dorie and her band are a dynamic, multi-generational collective performing original songs from two solo albums and selected tracks from three Kaprekar’s Constant records on which Dorie shared lead vocals.

Stupid Says Run is Dorie’s latest album, released in January 2025, co-written with members of Kaprekar’s Constant. She is currently playing a series of live dates in support.

Dorie has enjoyed a successful, parallel career to date as a backing vocalist to a variety of artists, including Squeeze’s Chris Difford, Francis Dunnery and Marti Pellow and is now stepping forward to front this new project.

Dorie’s live band includes her father, legendary sax player with Van der Graaf Generator and Peter Gabriel, David Jackson. Other bandmates are fellow Kaprekar’s members Mike Westergaard on piano and Nick Jefferson on bass. Fourth member is Danny Dunnery on guitar and backing vocals. Danny is a successful singer songwriter in his own right and has played a solo support slot at Dorie’s shows to much acclaim.

Dorie has recently opened for Merry Hell and Solstice as well as sold-out shows throughout the UK
